  30. The pessimism here is atrocious! Amiga Technologies has taken a bankrupt
  31. company with no facilities, no production, and no R&D (for over a year) and
  32. have made substantial improvements in our anemic condition.

  34. They now have production facilities. There is a tremendous amount of 
  35. R&D going on (witness Walker and several posts from Michael Metz concerning
  36. CHRP/HRP, Olaf and others working on the OS). They have production coming
  37. out again. We have dealers signing up (more and more evry week) in the
  38. North American continent. We have some developers getting stronger
  39. (finally). We have some new 3rd party projects just out or coming out (DKB
  40. to name one, PhaseV to name another). Many apps are being improved and
  41. upgraded (Final Writer/PageStream). Amiga Technologies has made almost
  42. every computer fair in the world in the last year. They have approached
  43. many developers personally. Thay have a visible presence on Usenet in
  44. several different newsgroups. They have opened channels of communications
  45. to those who are interested in hearing what's happening. They have opened
  46. up distribution in the US/Canada with more who are willing to play this
  47. role. And Ed Goff is silent as a church mouse!

  49. That last, in itself, is a tremendous improvement over what we had with C=!

  51. The problem is that it's not exciting to think about all the good stuff. As
  52. we used to say in the newspaper business (when I was in that business) ...
  53. good news doesn't sell. It's much more fun to call the R&D (both in-house
  54. and 3rd party) 'vaporware'. That's the same as saying that the people
  55. working on these projects must be lying? I just don't think that the PhaseV
  56. people, Olaf Barthel, and the Amiga Technologies people are telling us
  57. falsehoods! Sorry ...
