- The pessimism here is atrocious! Amiga Technologies has taken a bankrupt
- company with no facilities, no production, and no R&D (for over a year) and
- have made substantial improvements in our anemic condition.
-
- They now have production facilities. There is a tremendous amount of
- R&D going on (witness Walker and several posts from Michael Metz concerning
- CHRP/HRP, Olaf and others working on the OS). They have production coming
- out again. We have dealers signing up (more and more evry week) in the
- North American continent. We have some developers getting stronger
- (finally). We have some new 3rd party projects just out or coming out (DKB
- to name one, PhaseV to name another). Many apps are being improved and
- upgraded (Final Writer/PageStream). Amiga Technologies has made almost
- every computer fair in the world in the last year. They have approached
- many developers personally. Thay have a visible presence on Usenet in
- several different newsgroups. They have opened channels of communications
- to those who are interested in hearing what's happening. They have opened
- up distribution in the US/Canada with more who are willing to play this
- role. And Ed Goff is silent as a church mouse!
-
- That last, in itself, is a tremendous improvement over what we had with C=!
-
- The problem is that it's not exciting to think about all the good stuff. As
- we used to say in the newspaper business (when I was in that business) ...
- good news doesn't sell. It's much more fun to call the R&D (both in-house
- and 3rd party) 'vaporware'. That's the same as saying that the people
- working on these projects must be lying? I just don't think that the PhaseV
- people, Olaf Barthel, and the Amiga Technologies people are telling us
- falsehoods! Sorry ...
